On May 30, 2017, Natrue, an organization representing organic and natural cosmetics, celebrated its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, its members and the press were gathered in Brussels to provide an overview of the association’s progress and the objectives to be reached for the years to come. CosmeticOBS was there: here is our report.
It is in the very chic The Hotel Brussels that Natrue organized their General Assembly. What for? To celebrate the association’s 10th anniversary, assert their commitments, and firmly establish their projects in the long term.
Natrue, who are you?
Here is a short reminder of the identity of this organization. Natrue is a non-profit association founded in 2007 which aims to help promote and highlight natural and organic cosmetics. To this aim, a label was set up to contribute to identifying the products that correspond the most to the Natrue requirements – no artificial substance at the top of the lists in formulas.
The label is doing well: 35 new brands chose to join the movement in 2016. Right now, 5,300 products from almost 30 different countries all around the world have been labelled.
As a result, the association has become a leader in natural cosmetics certification. It is also the only organization of this type to be part of the European Commission Working Group on Cosmetic Products. This prerogative gives it a terrific advantage: it has an impact on the European legislation applying to cosmetics.
