As expected, the derogations for “the temporary placing on the market and use of certain hydro-alcoholic products used as biocidal disinfectants for human hygiene” have just been prolonged in France. The Order of 29 June 2020 providing for this was published in the Official Journal of the French Republic on 2 July 2020.
In an article published on June 22nd on CosmeticOBS, Corinne Benoliel and Pauline Ferreira-Théret of Institut Scientis advised anticipating the end of the derogations for hydro-alcoholic products, even taking into account the possible extension of these exceptional measures.
This extension has just been made official by the Order of 29 June 2020 amending the Order of 13 March 2020 authorising by derogation the temporary placing on the market and use of certain hydro-alcoholic products used as disinfectant biocides for human hygiene.
The key points of the Order
• The derogation is extended until 31 December 2020
• From 1 October 2020, the Simmbad and Synapse declarations are compulsory and the labelling must comply with the provisions of the Order
• Stocks of batches manufactured before 1 October 2020 may be made available on the market until 31 December 2020 and must be used within two years from the date of manufacture
