The Competition Council decided today that Pierre Fabre must authorize the sale of its products on the Internet by its authorized distributors. In a statement made public on Wednesday, the Council justified its decision by stressing that Internet sales"make it easier for consumers to compare prices" and offer them services such as"home delivery" and"real-time availability of product-specific documentation anywhere". Before concluding that the company has 3 months to authorize"the sale on the Internet of its cosmetic and personal hygiene products", under penalty of a new decision.
