Schwarzkopf, a company of the German Henkel group, will have to pay the victim, as compensation for the various losses suffered, a total sum of 8,500 euros.

On several occasions in 1989, 1990 and 1991, the hairdresser had to undergo surgery for bladder cancer. The appointed legal expert considered that"the pathology is undoubtedly the consequence of the prolonged use, over the years, of hair dyes containing products known for their carcinogenicity".

Questioned by'La Provence', Schwarzkopf's lawyer, Patrice Grenier, stated that'the case is old'. He had contested the causal link between the use of the product and the pathology declared by paying another non-judicial expertise to the debates. Schwarzkopf did not appeal the judgment.
