On 6 January 2025, Anses, which is now responsible for assessing cosmetic substances and cosmetovigilance in France, announced that it was postponing publication of its work programme for 2025, as it did not currently know what resources it would have available for the year.
Each year, the Anses finalises its work programme in December and then makes it public.
“In the absence of a budget bill, the year 2025 begins without any certainty as to whether the Agency’s resources will match its planned programme. As announced at the Board meeting in December, priorities will have to be set in the light of the likely reduction in resources,” explains an Anses press release.
Any prioritisation of work for 2025 will be carried out on a scientific basis, in consultation with the Agency’s International Scientific Advisory Board.
