FEBEA joins the fight against domestic violence. On the occasion of the International day for the elimination of violence against women, on November 25, 2021, the federation has announced that it will work alongside the government to participate in the dissemination of support systems for women victims of violence.
“Cosmetic brands, just like the professionals who work in beauty salons, perfumeries or hair salons on a daily basis, have a special relationship with women. These women are often their first customers, but also, unfortunately, the first victims of violence. As many professionals can testify, the exercise of these professions in contact with women’s bodies is sometimes an opportunity to observe traces of violence,” explains the FEBEA. “This commitment from companies in the cosmetics sector is also directed at their female employees: as the majority of the sector’s jobs are done by women, they too can be victims of violence. For all these reasons, the entire cosmetics sector has decided to join forces to support the government’s action in the fight against violence by relaying prevention and warning messages to women as closely as possible. Thanks to this exceptional mobilization, tens of thousands of beauty salons, perfumeries and hair salons throughout France, along with numerous cosmetic brands, will be able to inform their customers about the tools available to victims and witnesses of violence.”
