For years, Paris Packaging Week has brought together the entire beauty and spirits packaging industry. For the first time, the show’s organizers have given the floor to industry experts to draw up a trend book for the future of packaging.

“As at our event, in these pages we bring together some of the most influential innovators and designers in the international packaging sector. We asked them to share their views on the key packaging issues for the year ahead, as well as their hopes for the sector and their advice for up-and-coming packaging designers,” explained Josh Brooks Event Director of Paris Packaging Week.

The deposit
According to Alexandra Ferré, Head of Impact & CSR at Yves Rocher, the deposit system is gaining in popularity. “Some initiatives are led by retailers, like Carrefour with Loop, while others are tested at regional level, like in Brittany. For Yves Rocher, we’re testing the deposit system in three stores thanks to the Recosm coalition, which brings together the main players in the French beauty industry. If this practice becomes firmly established in the different sectors of mass consumption, it could transform customer habits by reconnecting them to daily gestures of reuse.”
