With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Cupid is about to unleash his arrows. But when it comes to winning your partner’s favor, hygiene plays an important role. To mark Valentine’s Day, the 900.Care brand asked itself about the place of cleanliness in French people’s intimate relationships.
To carry out this study, 2,800 people were interviewed (interview dates not given).
First findings
Before going on a date, 75% of respondents take a shower.
More men than women keep their day clothes on. 80% leave the house without wearing deodorant or perfume.
Still on the subject of odors, the survey reveals that gentlemen are more sensitive than women to “nicotine” breath (48% versus 38%).
On the other hand, they are more easily bothered by perspiration (61% versus 51%).
Kiss, kiss, kiss
Before kissing, it’s best to have impeccable oral hygiene. Zs and Millenials don’t necessarily think so. Unlike their elders, they are three times less likely to brush their teeth before kissing their beloved.
Spontaneity or cleanliness?
Before getting to the heart of the matter, panellists prefer to let their desire speak rather than their fear of not smelling nice.
75% of those questioned said they didn’t shower before getting under the comforter… for fear of ruining the magic of the moment.
