To establish this report, YouGov interviewed 2030 French people (representative of the population) between January 17 and 19, 2023.

• The composition
• The brand
• The smell
• The reputation of the brand
• The texture
• The labels
• The opinions of other consumers
• The brand’s commitment
• The packaging
Price is unsurprisingly the key factor. 31% of French people have reduced their beauty expenses over the last 12 months. 57% of them have kept their habits. “We note that young people are the most likely to have seen their financial situation improve.”
Given the inflationary context, only 5% of respondents (10% among 18-24 year olds) plan to increase their skincare purchases in 2023. The main argument is that they will pay more attention to their financial situation.

The local aspect is also attractive for 80% of respondents.
