Emmanuel Guichard : des champs de betteraves aux champs de roses

Emmanuel Guichard has taken the reins of the FEBEA. He succeeds Patrick O’Quin as General Delegate of the Federation. Review of the career of this man, with a strong industrial background, who was not (a priori) destined for the world of beauty.

Originally from the South-West, Emmanuel Guichard is attached to his land. “My family is established between the Périgord and the Arcachon basin. And since always, it is there that I return when I need to recharge my batteries.”

After obtaining his baccalaureate, he began training as an agricultural engineer. This taste for the earth comes from his father, a nurseryman. He then specialized in genetic research on cultivated plants.
A first generation Erasmus student, Emmanuel Guichard completed his studies in Cordoba. After obtaining his degree in 2001, he flew to the United States. A change of scenery, he goes from the Mediterranean sun to the vast expanses of Colorado. “I was working for a french company. I was doing research on sugar beets. So I spent a lot of time out in the fields talking to farmers.”

Two years later, it was time to return. Two years later, it was time to return home. Emmanuel Guichard first went to Spain before finally settling in Paris. And there, it’s the big jump.
