7 beauty Advent calendars to wait until Christmas

Christmas is coming… As the countdown has officially started, it is usually quite hard to wait until D Day. No worries! To help even the most refractory of you behave until they can open their gifts, there is the traditional Advent calendar. So, while children wait with chocolate, we adults may get calendars filled with cosmetics to pamper and take care of ourselves. CosmeticOBS has made a selection of beauty Advent calendars for all budgets – no bad stomach upset, guaranteed!

L’Occitane en Provence

Price: €45

For the third consecutive year, L’Occitane has worked in partnership with Kanako (already well-known with My Little Paris) to gather their bestsellers. However, the content has changed this time, as well as the price: no goodies to wrap your gifts, but a selection of 24 beauty products.

What’s on the agenda? Feet and hand creams, and also a lot of products for the bath. The tone is set: L’Occitane wants us to be clean as a new pin to celebrate Christmas.

Benefit

Price: €48.95

At Benefit’s, either they are really patient, or they cannot count to 24: the brand’s calendar only has 12 boxes. So, for those strong-minded enough to open a box every other day – to make sure they are not left stranded too early – they will discover the brand’s essentials in travel size, like the They’re Real mascara, The POREfessional smoothing primer, and the well-known Benetint Blush. Still, there are a few boxes missing…

The Body Shop

Price: €85, €99 and €115

This year, The Body Shop offers three different formulas for three different prices… and for those with a well-lined purse despite the harsh times we are living in. There are 25 body and beauty products in each version, like shower gels, body creams, or makeup products. And as a bonus in the most expensive versions, The Body Shop has featured a few products from the latest collection.

It is all very well, but given the price, it may be a bit wiser to buy these new products directly in store.

Nocibé

Price: €29.95

Contrary to the others, the cosmetics distributor has thought about purses in dire straits. The brand has decided to put itself in the spotlight, since the beauty products in its calendar are all Nocibé-branded. The Christmas spirit is everywhere in this box: among others, you will find a felt reindeer – now, that will look most splendid on the Christmas Eve dinner table – or a Christmas tree-shaped mould – for the famous Christmas biscuits. So… if you do not look good on that day, your table will!

Monop’Beauty

Price: €39.90

For €10 more than last year, Monoprix has decided to enrich their own version of the Advent calendar. If the beauty selection was resolutely focused on nail varnish last year, this time, the brand has included eye makeup and a few bath products. But obviously,

Monoprix could not help but add about ten nail varnish bottles… as a way to lay it on thick!

Bare Minerals

Price: €95

Bare Minerals has also taken the plunge, with the first edition of their beauty Advent calendar. You will find 24 makeup products, mainly for the lips and eyes, and about ten lipsticks and glosses: classic shades, to seduce as many consumers as possible. There is also an exclusive product featured as a preview in one of the 24 boxes.

Kiehl’s for men

Price: €38.50

The first and only beauty Advent calendar for men. While our men thought they were doomed to wait for Christmas with beer or whisky calendars – they do exist – well, they will not need to! Kiehl’s has launched their first edition wholly dedicated to the male sex. Same programme as for women, they will discover 24 miniature products: skincare, bath products, but also after-shave products. And it is not because it is the right time for it that    everyone must have the same beard as Santa Claus.

Still, it should be said that none of these calendars contains any full-size products. And even if we like to think small is beautiful, sometimes it is worth it to have fewer products, but more capacity. A message to Santa Claus?
