The exfoliating mask

Ideal to prepare one’s skin for tanning and to clean it prior leaving for holidays, or to maintain its fitness all-the-year-round, this two-in-one, smart, full of resources product follows in the footsteps of the multi-purposes products, so sought-after since some time. What is an exfoliating mask?

This term is applied to a mask and an exfoliating productcombined in one product, though it deals, in fact, with extremely different care. Thus, better to look thoroughly at their formulae before buying. From the twin-exfoliation (enzymatic or chemical and mechanical) mask to the anti-spot exfoliating mask, to the “youth effect” peeling masks to the masks specific to combination or oily skins…this treasonous product belongs to a large family!
There are even products for body care (Sephora, Express Body Scrub & Mask, 200 mL, € 7.90), which, thanks to its papaya enzymes and grains of apricot kernels, belongs to the twin enzymatic and mechanical exfoliation.
Alternatively, peel-off masks that freeze features by “plasticizing” them, and are torn off as if a second skin, pulling away, yes, dead cells and impurities: this makes this kind of mask the ancestor of its sort (Élisabeth Arden, Visible Difference Peel & Reveal Revitalizing Mask, 50 mL, € 30).
However, be cautious: the peel-off masks always contain a high rate of alcohol (INCI: Alcohol denat. the second ingredient in this product) and Polyvinylic alcohol (INCI: Polyvinyl alcohol), the film-maker agent, which makes the plastic layer of the peel-off products. Therefore, …
