Children: the wave of water-based varnishes

Children's water-based nail polishes banish controversial ingredients, adapt to the morphology of small nails and remove without dissolving. They represent an alternative to the adult offer and participate in the expansion of the niche segment of children's make-up. The proof by five recent brands made in France.

Stop with the make-up for children made in China formulated with lead (neurotoxic), nickel (allergenic) or phthalates (endocrine disruptors)… and which is also too often pointed out for its nonconformity with the provisions of the European Cosmetics Regulation . Stop small hands that use varnishes for adults that may contain resins based on formaldehyde (carcinogenic), toluene (toxic to the body), UV filters (allergens and pollutants for aquatic environments), acetone (toxic to the body)… so much to say cosmetic products with a toxicological profile particularly discouraged to children but also to adults, especially pregnant women. If the demand of lolitas is (unfortunately?) growing for nail polish, these new water-based products represent an interesting alternative for their relative safety. On the other hand, their durability is not their strong point even if the peelable version keeps its promises better. They fade with the first hand wash… and can therefore be quickly replaced!

Formulated mainly with water for 60 to 70%, they then display less natural ingredients, even for brands that claim to be ecological, but that remain relatively harmless.
