The ceramist confirms his ambition to go towards perfume with the incredible discovery of three scents from the depths of time, recreated by Dominique Ropion, one of the world’s greatest perfumers.

The Blue God or the Egyptian kyphi (used in fumigation to honor the gods), Artaban or the Roman “royal perfume”, Les Nuits or the perfume of George Sand (10 ml, €65; 30 ml, €155; 100 ml, €265 or in the form of a precious gold box with a book containing the story of their incredible journey, illustrated by the artist Eva Jospin, 3 X 10 ml, €195), these three perfumes are the result of a meeting between Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte, creators of Astier de Villatte, Dominique Ropion, star perfumer at IFF and Annick Le Guérer, perfume historian, anthropologist and researcher.

A lover of impossible missions, Dominique Ropion has given himself no limits in the reconstitution of the three formulas, a perilous exercise considering their richness and complexity.
His close collaboration of more than twenty years with Annick Le Guérer was the starting point of the project. The historian provided her with precise documents for the first two perfumes, as well as a travel bottle of George Sand’s perfume, entrusted to her by one of her descendants, Christiane Sand.
