International news: China abolishes 447 industrial standards

La Chine abolit 447 normes industrielles

As part of its partnership with CosmeticOBS, Business France announces that, on December 31, 2019, China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC) announced the repeal of 447 industry standards relating to the inspection and quarantine of imported and exported products. The announcement came into effect on the date of its promulgation.

Of these repealed standards, sixteen concern the cosmetics sector. Here are the details and the reason for their repeal.

SN/T 2287-2009 - HACCP applied guidelines in cosmetics for import and export
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published the standard ISO 22716:2007 “Cosmetics - Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) - Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practice”.
China has adopted this standard and has formulated the standard SN/T 2359-2009 “Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetic Products for Import and Export”.

SN/T 4598-2016 - Technology specifications of safety and monitoring of import and export cosmetic
A normative document is already in force on this subject.

SN/T 1784-2006 - Determination of dioxane residues in cosmetics for import and export – Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method
The “Cosmetic Safety and Technical Standards 2015” detail the same test method.

SN/T 2103-2008 - Determination of 8-methoxypsoralen and 5-methoxypsoralen in cosmetics for import and export – Liquid chromatography
The standards GB/T 30935-2014 “Determination of 8 furocoumarines, including 8-methoxypsoralen in cosmetics - High-performance liquid chromatography” and “Cosmetic Safety and Technical Standards 2015” detail the same test method.
