On 27 February 2023, the European Commission transmitted to the WTO (World Trade Organisation) the draft Regulation on packaging and packaging waste. Scheduled for adoption in 2025, its main aim is to prevent the unsustainable use of resources and promote the circular economy, to protect human health and the environment. It is now open for comment for 90 days.
