The packaging solutions distributor has published its 2023 Sustainability Report, and can boast some good results. In particular, the company has succeeded in reducing its carbon footprint and waste.
Like other players in the packaging industry, Berlin Packaging is committed to achieving the lowest possible environmental impact.
By 2023, the Group has:
• Reduced the proportion of virgin material in packaging sold (replaced by over 1,700 tonnes of PCR and 10,700 tonnes of recycled glass)
• Purchased 4645 MWh of renewable energy credits
• Reduced waste at its Napa Valley (USA) warehouse
“The year 2023 also gave rise to numerous reusable and refillable solutions, particularly in the beauty market: the Infusion Refill Fragrance product, for example, was designed to enable end-customers to refill their bottles up to 25 times with their favorite fragrance, while optimizing the recyclability of the packaging, which is completely decomposable,” the company explained. “Airglass Refill & Go is a collection of refillable and recyclable packs. It limits product waste, protecting it from external contaminants and preserving the efficacy of its ingredients.”
Berlin Packging also works with two organizations (United Packaging Forest and Treedom) to promote reforestation, climate action and biodiversity conservation.
