L'Oréal is the most valued cosmetics brand in the world

Since 2011, Brand Finance (an independent evaluation and strategy consulting firm for companies) has been ranking the most powerful cosmetics companies in the world. L’Oréal takes the gold medal with an estimated value of $12 billion.

Since 2023, L’Oréal has been at the top of the Brand Finance ranking.
Behind the heavyweight are:
• Estée Lauder ($7.1 billion)
• Nivea (6.6 billion)
• Gillette (6.5 billion)
• Dove (6.4 billion)
• Guerlain ($6.3 billion)
• Lancôme ($5.1 billion)
• Clinique (4.8 billion)
• Pantene (4.6 billion)
• Garnier (4.1 billion)

L’Oréal reigns supreme in the Cosmetics 50 ranking. It is one of the most popular and well-known brands in the world. It is present in more than 150 countries and has a portfolio of more than 30 brands,“ explains Brand Finance. “By leveraging its huge social media following (more than 10 million followers on Instagram and 438,000 on TikTok), L’Oréal has increased its awareness among young consumers, producing engaging content (often led by renowned influencers). In addition, L’Oréal boasts an innovative and ever-expanding skincare line.”

In addition to measuring the monetary value of brands, Brand Finance also looks at their strength. The firm looks at the marketing investment, stakeholder equity and commercial performance of each manufacturer. The results are then analyzed and each company receives a score out of 100.
Once again, the Brazilian company Natura comes out on top with a score of 89.1/100
