The National Directorate of Intelligence and Customs Investigations (DNRED) announced on 4 January that it had searched two laboratories manufacturing counterfeit cosmetic products in Seine-et-Marne. Balance sheet: 45,000 counterfeit products seized. A first in France.
Customs officials indicate that the laboratory"is had a dual production activity. On the one hand, it manufactured, under its own brand, cosmetic products intended for export, and on the other hand, articles for body and facial care, counterfeiting products sold in pharmacies.
Customs mentions the exceptional nature of the case due to the laboratory's double production activity and the manufacture of counterfeit cosmetics on French territory.
After searching a first warehouse in Seine-et-Marne, the investigators found leads on a potential second storage site. So it was at this other site that the investigators discovered that"the more than 45,000 counterfeit products and an equivalent number of packages, such as tubes, bottles, jars, capsules, as well as empty packaging intended to receive these products ".
However, the case did not stop there, the investigators' investigations led them to search another storage place in Calvados. Nearly 17,000 other counterfeit cosmetic products and 50,000 empty packages were seized.
The person in charge of these production and storage sites was interviewed by the investigators.
