Everyone knows it under the name ‘Task Force Packaging’. The working group created to draft guidelines to help perform the safety assessment of cosmetics packaging (provided for, but not made explicit in Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009), presented their work results at the 14th edition of the Cosmetic Valley Perfumes & Cosmetics Congress.
Jean-Marie Julien, Packaging Expertise Material Strategy Manager at L’Oréal, and Patrick Prévost, Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager Europe at Aptar, provided congress visitors with the detailed results of the working group dedicated to cosmetics packaging.
The Task Force
The group was formed to continue and strengthen the work initially done by the FEBEA (French Federation of Beauty Companies) to clarify all the relevant information regarding packaging safety. Promoted to the European level under the aegis of Cosmetics Europe, they first endeavoured to gather all players in this field. Alongside the industry, 14 federations were associated to them, from plastics raw material producers to additive suppliers (colourants…), finishing industries (printing, varnish), and converters.
