On 8 January 2024, the US FDA announced the availability of new tools for creating the establishment and product registration forms required by the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA), the new law governing cosmetics in the United States.
The first new feature is SPL Xforms, a structured tool for creating registrations for cosmetic establishments and products.
This is one of the options for creating an SPL file containing registration information, says the FDA, which adds that it also accepts electronic submissions via Cosmetics Direct or the Electronic Submissions Gateway.
The FDA has also announced the availability of paper forms FDA 5066 and FDA 5067, which can also be used to submit registrations by e-mail, although the Agency is encouraging companies to use electronic tools instead.
As a reminder, following the deadline granted by the FDA, these registrations may be submitted until 1 July 2024.
