Many French beauty industry players want to set up their business abroad. And since it is not always obvious which country to choose first, Business France’s Team France Export has drawn up a panorama of all the areas worth considering. Focus on Chile.

Chileans have an annual beauty budget of $335. This amount makes them one of the biggest cosmetic consumers in South America.
More than 50% of them regularly buy high-end brands: 18% of products sold are premium, the highest rate in Latin America.

The Chilean beauty market is worth $2.8 billion. Analysts forecast 5% growth in mass-market segments and 15% in prestige by 2025.

Trends
Like everywhere, Chileans are concerned about the state of the planet and are sensitive to formulas. Clean Beauty is thus making headway in the country.
Men are also looking for skin care products designed for them. They spend $196 per year on beauty products.
Finally, the children’s lines are also experiencing significant growth.

Despite the particular attention paid to ingredient lists, the main decision factor is price (82%).
51% of consumers explain that they try a new product when it is on sale.

Chilean women are big makeup fans. Only 10% of them do not wear any.
Among the products they use the most, we find:
