In foresight, it’s never too early to talk about the future. The WGSN agency has teamed up with Coloro to create a color palette that is likely to influence the fashion and beauty industries (make-up, packaging, etc.) within the next two years.
WGSN and Coloro believe that 2026 will be “the year of reorientation. Old ideas will be overturned, and the public will demand urgent change in the way we manage our societies, industries and environments. This will be reflected in a palette that mixes bright colors embodying urgency, with offbeat hues symbolizing nature.”
Here are the five shades chosen to illustrate the coming period (with descriptions by WGSN).
Transformative Teal
“This color responds to growing consumer demand for eco-responsibility. This fusion of blue and green refers to nature in all its diversity, as well as to a ‘planet first’ mindset, aimed at strengthening our resilience in the face of complex climate change.”
Electric Fuchsia
After the “Barbie core” trend, how about a little pink? “Electric Fuchsia is a vivid fluo with a vibrant, digital quality,” comments WGSN. “Exhilarating and intoxicating, it conveys a sense of escapism. But it also has an unsettling effect, recalling the aesthetics of post-human universes.”
