Export: the beauty world, and its markets

On December 11, the Cosmetic Network team of Ubifrance organized the first Rencontres Internationales de la Beauté (International Meetings on Beauty). A full day of meetings, talks, lectures, for a better knowledge of the main beauty markets, and to help cosmetic companies develop on the international market. This was a time to look at the opportunities for export in different areas of the world. These Rencontres should now be held every year henceforth.

Circa 250 people registered, more than 700 requests for head-to-head meetings: this first session of the Rencontres Internationales de la Beauté organized bu Ubifrance (the French Agency for the international development of companies) has been more than successful.
To begin with, Henri Baissas, the Ubifrance Operational Manager, has reminded the audience of the role of this French Agency for the international development of companies: advise on markets, support the moves and commercial efforts for export. With its 80 offices in 60 countries, Ubifrance talks of itself as a “compass on the international markets”. “Eight out of ten companies that work with us turn words within six months to two years, by signing contracts or finding new customers," Henri Baissas let us know.

For this meeting, the Agency gathered fifteen of its representatives from abroad: they came from Germany or U.K, but also from China, Brazil, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, the USA … to provide us with figures, data and advice, about the emergent markets, but also about the so-called mature ones.
