On June 12, 2022, IES Ingredients, distributor of raw materials for the beauty industry (among others), inaugurated a new site in Allauch. On this occasion, Noël Poinsignon, Executive General Manager, spoke with CosmeticOBS to talk about the opening of this location and reveal a little more about the company’s current projects.
Founded in 1993, IES Ingredients is specialized in the sale of raw materials (perfumes, cosmetic actives and flavors). The structure has been working for a long time with partners such as Givaudan, DSM Personnal Care or Aroma Ingredients, to name but a few.
Construction of the Allauch plant, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, began in 2018.
“The creation of this site is a response to a major problem: guaranteeing our customers the availability of raw materials,” explains Noël Poinsignon. “Often, the delivery times of goods are long. It is true that even if our partners are mainly European, the chemical industry has developed internationally and some links in the chain are on the other side of the world. Having the possibility to stock more raw materials helps us to ensure our order flow, especially since most of our customers have been growing since 2020. This strategy also allows us to secure prices. Indeed, since the beginning of the sanitary crisis, transportation costs have increased by 50 to 70%.”
