As every year, at the close of the Cosmetic Valley’s 22nd Congress on Regulatory Issues - Fragrance & Cosmetics, held on 20 and 21 November 2024, the FEBEA team answered questions prepared by delegates during the two days of conferences. The third ans last part of the session focuses on ingredients, allergens, GMPS and safety assessment.

Is there any news on the publication of the REACH regulation on PFAS?

As a reminder, a proposal to restrict PFAS has been put forward by five member states. ECHA’s CERACR and SEAC are currently evaluating this proposal, and an analysis of all the comments received during the public consultation is underway. A proposal for a Regulation prepared by the European Commission is expected by 2025, or even 2026. This could mean publication in 2026, or even 2027.
