The animal health decision is dated 26 February and was made public on 7 March. The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products has just banned an oil and massage gel from the company NJK. Reason: very concentrated in essential oils which give them pharmacological properties, these products do not have the cosmetic status they claim but are in fact medicines.

This decision by the ANSM implies the suspension of the placing on the market, whether free of charge or not, of the distribution, manufacture, marketing or sale of the product; The company NJK is also engaged in the sale or distribution of HL2 Oléokinum massage oil and TRH5 Balmakinum gel free of charge, for export and for advertising purposes.

These two products contain high proportions of anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antiseptic or anaesthetic essential oils, and the Agency therefore considers that they possess pharmacological properties incompatible with the status of cosmetic product claimed by the company NJK.

For ANSM, these products actually meet the definition of a drug by function.
NHK is not a pharmaceutical establishment, and the products have not received marketing authorisation (MA) before they are marketed, which is mandatory for the same products;drugs but not cosmetics, the Agency concludes that they are marketed and promoted in breach of the rules applicable to them and that they are likely to present a danger to human health.

Hence this decision to suspend product cases"until they comply with the regulations governing the medicinal product applicable to them".
The brand has already removed these products from its website.
