In gel, night cream, mask, sun powder or organic cosmetic version, the self-tanner face gives rise to new gestures. Adapted to the type of skin, often progressive, it provides a healthy glow (rather than a tan) tailor-made and natural. Good news, the unpleasant smell of DHA is well and truly neutralized.
If it is rather losing speed on the body, since it is preferred this season self-tanning capsules or tinted formulas (See the Zoom News Leg make-up ), the self-tanner face, returns to the front of the stage, with many innovations. Most often progressive (less than 5% of ), it develops a light tan whose intensity modulates at will (one application every two days for a sustained tan, once or twice a week for a moderate result). The dehydrating effect of DHA is compensated by the presence of numerous"care" active ingredients (vegetable oils, hyaluronic acid, shea butter, glycerin…). Its unpleasant odour, which develops in contact with the air, tends to disappear thanks to various effective odour sensor systems. Last but not least, you can use it as a starter or at the end of the season (to prolong and unify your real tan).
Night self-tanners are seeing the light of day!
They are used in the evening instead of night care and reveal a healthy glow upon waking. Without transfer, they do not stain clothes or sheets from 15 minutes after their application. This is the case of Flash Bronzer Night Sun by Lancôme (50 ml, 31 €), enriched with monoï, rosehip and argan oils, as well as vitamin E. Even more pointed but just as moisturizing (it contains shea butter, olive and sunflower seed oils, vitamins A, C and E, apple pectin, plumping kiwi extract…), Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Mask (65 ml, 35 €, at Sephora) is applied in a thin layer (subtle tan), or thicker for an intermediate tan. " We can go to bed after 2 to 3 minutes of waiting, it will not leave any mark on the pillow "says this great self-tanner specialist.
Formulas adapted to each skin !
With new textures and new care active ingredients, in 2015, the self-tanner is chosen according to skin type: dry, sensitive, normal… Fresh and light textures with rapid absorption are on the rise, like the Aqua-Gelée Autobronzante Visage by Biotherm Solaires (pump bottle 50 ml, 27 €, at Nocibé). The formula contains hyaluronic acid and Plankton from Vie™, the"home" active ingredient to improve skin quality. It offers an immediate beauty"bonus" thanks to pearly pigments that attract light and instantly illuminate the epidermis with golden highlights. The aquatic perfume is particularly successful! Other"light" textures that allow a fluid application and dry quickly: Galénic's Self Tanning Face Veil in its Sun Care range with Amazon uncaria (40 ml, 16.20 €), or St. Tropez Self Tan Sensitive Face Tanning Lotion for sensitive skin (50 ml, 38 €). Its hypoallergenic formula contains DHA of plant origin (100% natural complex) and a technology called Aromaguard™, which neutralizes unpleasant odors related to DHA. St. Tropez also offers a progressive version of its self-tanner for the face, always in a very fluid texture: Gradual Tan Facial Moisturizing Lotion (50 ml, 26 €). NKD SKN offers a"certified odourless" face and body cream. Its fine texture is suitable for all skin types: Self Tan Daily Brightening Moisturizing Cream (200 ml, 21 €). The same goes for Guinot with its Hydra Bronze Face Cream, a progressive tan moisturising cream (50 ml, 34 €). On the contrary, Vita Liberata formulates a self tanner for face and body reserved for dry skin (Phenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion, Ultra Nourishing Self Tanner for face and body, 150 ml, 39 €). Long-lasting (one application every 15 days on average!), it combines creamy texture and plant extracts (raspberry, lychee, ginkgo biloba…).
Green" version or sun powder
For certified organic cosmetics, Bio-Beauté by Nuxe is launching a Self Tanning Moisturizing Gel-Cream for face and body, with a self tanning complex combining DHA from cereals and erythrulose obtained by biofermentation of sugar (100 ml, 13.70 €). As for Lavera, its Face Self Tanning Cream uses DHA extracted from rapeseed oil (50 ml, 10.80 €). Let's save the most original product for last! It is a free sun powder that combines mineral pigments with illuminating microcrystals and self-tanning active ingredients, so that you no longer have to choose between tanning and make-up (Trystal® Minerals Self-Tanning Sun Powder from Vita Liberata, 39.90 €, available in 2 shades…): Sunkissed for light complexions or Bronze for dark skins). We apply it in ample gestures on the whole face and when we remove make-up (after 2 to 3 applications), the good look remains there !
