You may have them in your cupboards. Maybe, you use them, still. Beware: they are dangerous, illegal, harmful… and are the subject of a recall or ban by the European sanitary authorities. Underneath, you may find all the cosmetic products targeted by the RAPEX alert system this week: an anticellulite product containing the mixture of MI/MCI preservatives and a teeth whitening product containing hydrogen peroxide.

Danger : The product poses a chemical risk because it contains contains Methylisothiazolinone (MI) and Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) (measured concentration 0.2024% by weight). Dermal contact with MCI/MI-containing products can provoke allergic contact dermatitis to sensitised persons. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation 1223/2009.

Danger : The product poses a chemical because it contains hydrogen peroxide as a bleaching substance (measured concentration 3.06% by weight). Hydrogen peroxide at high concentrations causes skin irritation and is harmful if swallowed. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation 1223/2009.
