“Whether in the form of cream, spray, milk or stick, to be effective and safe, sun protection products must be used properly,” begins the ANSM.
And to give “some advice on how to choose and use sun protection products properly, and thus enjoy the sun in complete safety”.

The Agency reminds us that solar radiation is made up of a group of light rays including ultraviolet B (UVB), A (UVA) and C (UVC). UVC rays are largely absorbed as soon as they reach the atmosphere. However, UVB and UVA rays reach us and penetrate the surface layer of the skin (the epidermis), causing sunburn, as well as the deeper layer (the dermis), which can accelerate the ageing of the skin and cause skin cancers.
