ANSM (Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé) announces the withdrawal of Endoderma's Relaxing Leg Cosmetic Cream. Reason: it contains Isobutylparaben, a preservative banned in Europe as of today.
Sanofi-Aventis France, in agreement with the ANSM, is recalling batch 3M0002 of the Endoderma specialty, Relaxing cosmetic cream (Code ACL 9927744 -Péremption 11/2015). This recall follows the amendment made by European Regulation 358/2014 to the Cosmetics Regulation prohibiting the marketing of Isobutylparaben (preservative contained in this product), as of July 30, 2015.
Consequently, Sanofi-Aventis France requests that the marketing of this batch be stopped as from the evening of July 29, 2015.
It should be noted that this reminder comes late and that measures could have been taken earlier to comply with the new provisions of the cosmetics regulations, known since April 2014. It should also be noted that Sanofi-Aventis France sends this reminder to pharmacies and parapharmacies, but not to consumers…
