The Mintel forecasting agency was one of the first to draw its crystal ball. It has just published its forecasts for the year ahead. And it seems that the trend is towards new technologies, transparency and simplicity.

All this data is derived from the analysis of consumer behaviour. “It’s valuable information that can help brands to develop products that are better adapted to the needs of their target audiences,” says the agency.

Here are the three main trends identified by Mintel.

(My) knowledge is power
There’s no longer any question of tiring yourself out to get beautiful skin! The general public is determined to use new technologies to find solutions to their problems.
The beauty landscape is increasingly influenced by informed, empowered consumers who prioritise functional efficacy and ingredient knowledge.

We can expect to see an increase in the number of devices offering immediate analysis and results.
