Cosmetics in Santa's hood!

While we’ll have to wait until December 24 (or 25!) to unwrap our presents, the FEBEA already has an idea of what will be at the foot of the tree. According to a recent study by the Federation, conducted by polling firm OpinionWay, many French people plan to give beauty products as gifts over the festive season.

The French love to give cosmetics as Christmas presents. 77% of them do so.
44% of men say they often spoil their loved ones with beauty products.
“Why this craze? Because a very large majority of French people consider that a cosmetic gift promotes the well-being of the recipient (84%), and is therefore a sign of special attention (79% for all respondents). 76% of French people consider that a cosmetic gift is sure to please, whatever their socio-professional category,” explains FEBEA.

The study reveals that the over-65s are the biggest spenders. They are prepared to spend 64 euros per cosmetic (versus 52 euros for the rest of the sample).
Men are also more generous than women. Forty-seven percent of men are willing to spend 50 euros on a skincare product, compared to just 34% of women.
