Complexion waters

© L'Observatoire des Cosmétiques

Stars of summer, these waters warm the whole complexion with a glowy tan or make the cheeks rise pink. As impalpable as they are tenacious, they animate all skin tones, without any material effect. A 100% fake that looks 100% true! Zoom on the cosmetic news of the week by Ariane Le Febvre.

On sunny days, we particularly appreciate these textures as fluid and light as water, totally unsuspected, which leave a tanned complexion all in transparency and cheekbones dapper and vitaminized.

Terry of Gunzburg, creator of the By Terry brand, will not say otherwise! A specialist in the genre, this is not her first complexion water, a product she particularly likes in summer. Her latest creation, Tea To Tan, Eau de Teint Aquarelle Soleil (30 ml, 42 €, limited edition, at Sephora) is a two-phase formula"powder in water", enriched with antioxidant tea extracts and correcting microprisms. But the most original (and ingenious) is the double function"calm water" or"agitated water" of this water from the sun to the holding tattoo . If you don't shake the bottle ("still water"), the universal"good sun radiance" shade illuminates the world's most natural skin. On the other hand, if the bottle is shaken ("shaken water"), the microprisms with bitten reflections disperse, sublimating the complexion with a more sophisticated radiance. This allows customization of the application.

Same topo for Cheek to Cheek Eau by Blush Aquarelle Bonne Mine, still by Terry (20 ml, 35 €, a single universal grenadine shade : N°1 Cherry Cruise) whose mother-of-pearl is only revealed in the"shaken" version ! At rest, it is a splash of good looks, light red fruit syrup style.

But the first water blush was that of Benefit Cosmetics: Benetint, created in the United States in 1970 for an exotic cabaret dancer. The brand now offers it in 4 shades, the last of which is a pretty purple pink (Lollitint Blush Liquid, 12.5 ml, 33 €, at Sephora).

Another totally liquid texture that barely disappears on the face: Glam Bronze Eau de Soleil SPF 18 L'Oréal Paris (30 ml, 14.90 €). This universal coloured complexion water, enriched with golden microparticles, is suitable for both light and dark skins.

The same feeling of bare skin with Maestro Liquid Summer, Liquid Bronzer by Giorgio Armani Beauty (30 ml, 51 €, from 29 May), a formula without water or white powder, based on volatile evanescent oils.

Directions for use

Very liquid, the water of dye is used with the dropper (bottles pipette or stilligouttes). They are shaken before use and a few drops are placed in the palm of the hand, then quickly spread (they dry quickly) over the entire face, area by area.

For blush waters, a drop on the finger is enough. We apply like a confetti, we swirl, it's printed! The application can be repeated to intensify the healthy glow. Despite their"decal" appearance, the complexion waters do not require a specific make-up remover and can easily be removed with micellar water.
