Let’s celebrate pink gold!

Whether for packaging or makeup, there is a profusion of pink gold in Christmas beauty and cosmetic products! Close to skin tones, it provides a healthy glow to the nude effect and… makes it more wearable.

On the perfume segment, gold adorns the nude shade with light…
Joyful and off-beat, with an ‘imperial rock’ spirit, the Impearlious Christmas Collection by By Terry is dedicated to these pearlescent pinkish peach shades.
The Voile de Perle, Compact Teint Lumière (10g, €54) beautifies the complexion, while redefining the contours.
Impearlious Élixir de Perle Concentré Précieux Lumière à l’Absolu de Perles is a most flattering primer (30ml, €215 for a universal shade: Imperial Rose).
As for the famous Baume de Rose (nourishing, smoothing, regenerating lip care, 25g, €225), it is available in a DeLuxe pink gold version with a case set with roses.

Giorgio Armani has warmed up their Palette Holiday with bright gold: out of the ten eyeshadows, five contain more than 50% of golden mother-of-pearls (€90).

As for Yves Saint Laurent, even the most iconic Touche Éclat has dressed up as a fairy (Collector Sparkle Clash Edition, €36).

In their Palette des Rêves (Christmas Collection Paris en Rose, €60, limited edition), Lancôme has designed four sequined topcoat eyeshadows to be applied over the other eyeshadows in the palette, the Ombre Hypnôse Mono in Rose Satin injected with gold pigments (€28.50), and a Top Coat Paris en Rose (€18). As for the Cushion Highlighter (€46.50), it radiates with delicate powder-shaded spangles.

The pink gold shade is ideal for a sparkling complexion – and you will not look like a Christmas tree –, for example with the T.Leclerc Pink Gold Poudre Scintillante (€36.40).
The same goes for the Golden Pink shade of the Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (€38.50).

Adding a mineral powder mainly composed of lamellar particles makes it possible to reflect the light and intensify the diffusion of pigments.
In Météorites Perles de Légende (Perles de Poudre Révélatrices de Lumière, €57), Guerlain mingles gold and pink.

If the Make Up For Ever rosé champagne or pink, almost mauve Diamond Powders for eyelids should be left for full evening outfits (€24.95) – they do look a million dollars! – the effect is quite the opposite with the subtle Nars sand rose-coloured eyeshadow (Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Rigel, €27).

Even makeup brushes wear gold and pink (Makeup Artist by Zoe Bags, €240, as from December).

Pharmacies and supermarkets do not lag behind

In pharmacies, only Innoxa – they are never late when it comes to new trends – has launched a pink gold spangled powder in their Délice d’Or Christmas Collection (€19.30), and a pink gold sequined eyeliner (€13.60).

In supermarkets, the offering is much wider. L’Oréal Paris has used pink gold for all shades, starting with their lipstick and nail varnish Gold Obsession Collection, which contains 24-carat gold particles. For example, you will find Rose Gold, Pink Gold, or Nude Gold shades in the Color Riche lipsticks (€13.90). The Pure Gold colour can be applied alone or over another lipstick to highlight your lips. As for nail varnish, there are six shades with golden reflections (€6.20). And the Palette Gold (Extravaganza Fatale Christmas Collection, €24.50) displays an eyeshadow monochrome from iridescent sand to lame pink or warm gold.

Maybelline has launched the Palette 24 Karat Nudes (€14.90) with pink gold for a precious stone-like look.

And Artdeco innovates with a highlighter powder for the lips, which transforms the lipstick colour or provides volume and radiance if it is applied in the middle of the lips (Powder Lip Finish, €13.50, Christmas Collection My Glam Secret). Crystal Oil Drops (€22) is a golden oil which can be applied on the face or body, or mixed with a body cream for an iridescent effect.

However, gold is not reserved for year-end celebrations: it can also be worn in summer. Chanel has made it their flagship colour for their Spring/Summer Collection 2017, ‘Coco Codes’. The ‘Coco Code’ Exclusive Creation is a harmony of four satin-like and matte blushes from golden honey to caramel-warmed soft beige (€57, limited edition). The Joues Contraste powder blush is available in a new golden peach colour (370 Élégance, €40). Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette Multiple Effects gathers real yellow gold, white gold, mustard, and dark, intense brown (274 Codes Élégants, €50). As for the Rouge Coco Shine, it will be available in a warm beige-gold (Beige Doré, €35, limited edition).

Obviously, we are not done with gold yet!
