When secondary packaging gets a makeover

At a time when sustainability is the law in the cosmetics industry, over-packaging is no longer very popular, even if it remains essential to avoid breakage (especially for e-commerce). That’s why packaging suppliers are working hard to find responsible solutions that guarantee the protection of orders. This is the case of Unibags and Procos who presented their new shipping boxes at the Edition By Luxe Pack trade show, held in Paris on May 30 and 31, 2022.

To meet the need of brands to have secondary packs that ensure product integrity and durability, Unibags, a French packaging company, offers adjustable wedges for shipping boxes.
“In order to optimize the number of packaging references, a box can accommodate one or more bottles of the same size, thanks to a system of removable wedges that simplify the preparation of orders,” explains Unibags. “They are made to measure and are therefore particularly suitable for the packaging and transport of fragile parts. The boxes and their wedges are delivered flat to save storage space and reduce shipping costs. The whole thing is single-material, for easier recycling.”

Procos, a French packaging manufacturer, also offers a shipping box that is 100% single-material, recycled and recyclable. But the company has developed its product to meet another challenge of e-commerce: the famous “wow” effect.
“We wanted to provide a real shopping experience to the consumer. That’s why we designed a 3D pop-up sheet that unfolds when the package is opened. It can be stuck in the box or simply put down.
