Refillable lipsticks

Les rouges à lèvres rechargeables

They started to appear timidly in niche brands (Le Rouge Français, La Bouche Rouge, Kure Bazaar…), but now in 2022 the big luxury brands are adopting the refills. We will not complain about it, especially since the refills are much cheaper and the boxes are so pretty that it would be a shame to throw them away!

The flagship of eco-responsible products, La Bouche Rouge (€39, refillable upcycled leather case, €65) and Le Rouge Français (€45, Refill €25) have launched their refillable lipstick. Two brands that, with their biosourced cases, have gone to war against micro-plastic.
“A refillable lipstick purchased brings 100 liters of water to families who lack it,” says La Bouche Rouge.

Kure Bazaar has just launched its own with wild mango butter, pomegranate, argan oil and organic cranberry (Satin Lipstick, €38, Refill €22 or Matte Lipstick, €48, Refill €28).
The 28 colors are runway-inspired, and the packaging, as well as the refill, are made of aluminum, with an upcycled denim sheath (recovered́ from couture factories). Plus three Backstage-inspired outsiders: a Lip Luminizer, a Lip Matte Base and a Natural Balm, 100% of natural origin, smoothing and nourishing with a touch of gold micro-pearls, to illuminate the lips in transparency. All refillable, of course.

These confidential launches have boosted the luxury industry in its desire for sustainability, LVMH in particular.
Guerlain and Dior were already offering refillable lipsticks in 2021.
