Vitamin C reaches the supermarket (2/3)

Let’s face it, 2023 will be the year of vitamin C, which steals points from niacinamide and retinol (the two other substances that are ubiquitous in skincare). In turn, GMS is banking on the effectiveness of this dermatological active ingredient in significant doses. This is good news because it can now be found in high concentrations and at low prices in this circuit. And it is also starting to arrive in make-up.

In facials….

First to draw in January, L’Oréal Paris with Revitalift Clinical Serum (30 ml, €19.99), concentrated with 12% Pure Vitamin C (ascorbic acid, the form most used by dermatologists), combined with Vitamin E to act as a complement on oxidative stress and salicylic acid to exfoliate, tighten pores and smooth the skin. This serum corrects the first signs of aging (uneven skin tone, pores and fine lines) while boosting the skin’s radiance.
According to the brand, “in eight weeks the skin is twice as luminous and the pores are twice less visible”.

Even Mixa relies on the effectiveness of vitamin C combined with protective probiotic extracts in its Radiance Rehydrating Care (50 ml, €6.50), as well as in its Soothing Micellar Water with vitamin B3, vitamin CG and glycerin (200 ml, €2.80 or 400 ml, €5.80).

In March, it will be Garnier’s turn in its Skin Active range to increase the percentage of vitamin C: 10% pure vitamin C with hyaluronic acid in the Radiance Booster Vitamin C Night Serum (30 ml, €13.99).
