The French woman and her online pharmacy: A European not like the others

Newpharma, an online pharmacy of European dimension, launched a survey, in which nearly 6.000 female e-shoppers took part, to provide a better insight into the behaviour of the main consumer of pharmaceutical products. Results: cosmetics are the main purchases and the female French e-shoppers who, although they model their behaviour on European women, have completely different consumption habits as mothers.

European women

When women under 30 start their professional career and have no family obligations, they take care of their beauty and 61% enjoy their spare time (reading, music, etc.).
Their behaviour evidently changes when they have a family to look after, generally after the age of 30, as 50% of the respondents indicate that they do most of the shopping for the other members of their household (children, partner and pets). A large part of their spare time is thus dedicated to the children.
Finally, once their career and the upbringing of children are over, 83% of women over 55 enjoy several spare time activities (reading, music, painting, etc.), and take care of themselves again.

Except in France…

Except in France, when women have to take care of their family, their behaviour does not change, and 72% of them buy mainly for themselves, compared with 50% in the rest of Europe. Unlike her European counterparts, the e-French woman does not change behaviour and continues to buy more than 50% of cosmetics in all situations.
