In cosmetics, the era of disposable packaging is over. Most brands are starting to offer refill systems. The Arcade Beauty group has just produced its first waterproof, totally recyclable pack. This new packaging will be used for some L’Oréal shampoo ranges.
For its Elvive Color Vive Protective and Dream Length ranges, L’Oréal wanted a low environmental impact refill. “We have developed a 3 D Pouch in 100% PE for which L’Oréal can claim a material saving of 75% compared to two 250 ml bottles. This eco-refill can be recycled in the soft PE recycling channels when the collection and sorting infrastructures exist locally,” explains Arcade Beauty. “Manufactured on one of our European sites, this totally waterproof pack is equipped with a choice of a screw cap or a service cap. Depending on its size (from 30 ml to 1 liter), it has a gusset in order to stand upright.”
This packaging, available in single-material PP or PE (including the closure system), is part of the group’s global CSR approach, which aims to offer 100% of products ready to be recycled by 2025.
