While machines have not (yet) replaced humans, they can come in handy. The latest OpinionWay survey for Retail Tech highlights the fact that the French are increasingly in favor of retailers using artificial intelligence to smooth the customer journey.
To carry out this study, 1015 people were interviewed between March 27 and 28, 2024.
Key findings
34% of respondents believe that AI can facilitate the way they shop.
They believe that such tools can:
• Save time (29%)
• Help deliver more personalized offers and promotions (17%)
• Improve after-sales service responsiveness (19%)
• Make shopping more comfortable (16%)
• Enhance the overall consumer experience (16%)
• Speed up deliveries (14%) and payments (11%)
A clear majority of panellists (55%) confide that it would be desirable for France to become a leading country for AI in commerce. In fact, 54% believe this is possible.
