1007 people were questioned between November 8 and 9, 2023.

Artificial intelligence is not necessarily perceived as a revolution. 54% of the panel felt it was just another technology, and 8% thought it would have little impact on society. On the other hand, 36% are convinced that AI will fundamentally transform the world we live in.

Depending on the sector, respondents are fairly divided in their views on the use of artificial intelligence. When it comes to commerce, 44% believe the results could be satisfactory.

More specifically, the French expect certain benefits from AI (in the retail sector), such as:
• Taking advantage of the best prices (46%)
• Securing payments (37%)
• Avoiding stock-outs (27%)
• Minimizing the environmental impact of product deliveries (27%)
• Having Personalized promotions (26%)
• Enjoying better after-sales service (23%)
• Reducing waiting time at checkout (19%)
• Getting more advice and information on products and services (18%)
• Having faster delivery (14%)

For many French people, it’s important to have a smooth shopping experience. And while artificial intelligence is not destined to drastically transform our lifestyles, it can help simplify the user experience… to the delight of consumers.
