Cashmere inspires beauty…

Beauty has always liked valuable materials, but this year, with the wintry weather, it is all about this voluptuous fibre, whether for face and body care products, hand creams, or even foundations. No doubt these soft cashmere cosmetics will help us cope with the cold.

Cashmere complexion, promise of comfort…

Cashmere inevitably influences British beauty brands, Burberry ahead! The company has launched a long wear compact foundation, which not only prevents the skin from getting dry (that is quite rare in itself), but also provides a sensation of comfort, with a touch of cashmere softness: Burberry Cashmere Compact (€57, six shades).

Slipping into skin cashmere…

The luxurious fibre is also used as the basis of winter creams to rejuvenate this skincare category and replace the eternal ‘comfy cream’ with a more elegant word.

It can be found in a particularly voluptuous face cream: the Caudalie Crème Cachemire Redensifiante (Face Lifting Soft Cream, 50ml, €38.50) contains vine resveratrol and a complex of micro hyaluronic acids. But what makes this firming, anti-aging cream really different? Its exceptionally soft texture naturally merges with the epidermis, creating a ‘second skin’ effect. Its formulation secret lies in its phospholipids, 100% natural emulsifiers naturally present in the skin (they are part of cell membranes). Structured in perfectly biomimetic lamellar bilayers, they act like a ‘tank of actives’.

As for Dove, they have launched a highly comforting hand cream in their Derma Spa line: the Richesse Cachemire Hand Cream (75ml, €3.99).

What about body care? There is the Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Body Cream (226ml, €13.45). Rich in shea butter, milk proteins, rice oil, and cocoa butter, it promises 24h hydration, even for the driest skins. Its warm vanilla and golden peach perfume and its comfort act in unison – a good idea.
Note: there are only few body creams with a cashmere skin feel, and it is a shame, because that is the ideal indication!

Lastly, with its caressing silk fibres, the Clarisonic Cachemire Cleanse Luxe Facial Brush Head (€30 per head) should reconcile all dry or sensitive skins with the indisputable efficacy of its sonic cleansing system.
